Pagekins

Small stories. New reading friends.

A little reading.
A growing friendship.

Make room for a story, a little practice and a new friend. Pagekins brings phonics reading to life, one page at a time.

For growing readers and the grown-ups beside them.

A cheerful coral-coloured Pagekin peeks over an open book in a sunny paper-cut garden.

There’s a friend in every reading adventure.

A story, a clue, a companion

Little moments worth coming back for.

01 / Read

A bookshelf to explore

Illustrated phonics stories with clear reading pages. Start with the included books, then download more to keep reading offline.

02 / Discover

A clue when it helps

Tap supported words to reveal a letter-picture clue. Find a way through the tricky part, then return to the story.

03 / Grow

A friend along the way

Meet Nibbles, your first reading companion. Finish associated books to unlock more pets, and see your reading days add up.

Thoughtful down to the letters

A typeface made for new readers.

Meet Andika, the typeface behind the Pagekins interface and this website. SIL designed it with literacy in mind, paying attention to letterforms that are easy to tell apart.

Its single-storey a and g echo familiar handwritten shapes. A small, deliberate choice for the words around each story.

Explore SIL’s design rationale and Andika’s letterform features. Font design alone doesn’t establish better reading outcomes; illustrated book pages may use their original lettering.

Nibbles is there from the start.

A small celebration

A reading moment.
A friend to remember it.

Like a sticker kept after a story, a Pagekin marks a book finished. Complete an associated book, hatch its pet, and choose a companion for the bookshelf.

The book’s reward is fixed, and taking a day off doesn’t take away an earned pet. With encouragement from a parent or carer, our aim is to build the confidence behind “I read that myself.”
